Animation Festivals in Spain
I've browsed through a few lists of European Animation festivals and the following ones were the most acknowledged festivals in all of Spain, with quite a few big personalities as their frequent guests.
Firstly theres would be 'Animacor' which is this wonderful Animation Festival that happens from the 7th to the 12 of November and largely contributes to the development of the animation industries while also promoting the exchange of a broader knowledge and experience for all ages. Everyone will be welcomed, students, professionals, and producers etcetera, so it's a really nice cultural event to mingle and combine business with pleasure.

I've also had the pleasure of stumbling across a little festival that is happening in Catalonia. It really reminded me of MONSTRA in Lisbon because it is largely the same thing, just in a slightly bigger venue. The official name is 'The International animated festival of Catalonia' (or Animac for short) where a large amount of animators from all over the world attend to compete and share their work and experience.
Below is a little Short that was made for the Festival in 2009. I really liked how its done, it captures the essence about everything quirk and fun about animation, which this video is all about. It's cheerful, simple and does a great job as an opening video for the Festival and it is not too flashy, which is a lot more than I can say for some of the openers we've seen at MONSTRA..
